Celebrate the 34th National Children's Book Day
with PBBY!

This year's National Children's Book Day (NCBD) celebration will be a festive event for lovers of children's literature. The Philippine Board on Books for Young People (PBBY), in partnership with the National Book Development Board (NBDB), will be holding the 2nd Philippine Children's Book Summit (PCBS) on July 22, 2017.

The literary summit will feature discussions on rights trading, writing children's and young adult literature, and building a reading community. Renowned illustrator, Pepper Roxas, will talk about her process and her continuously evolving style as an artist. Workshops on comic book making and storytelling will also be available for aspiring comic book creators and storytellers.

Other highlights of the celebration are the day-long Illustrators' Fair and Storytelling Festival. Kids can create their own artworks with their favorite children's book illustrators from Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan (Ang INK). They can also watch award-winning children's books being performed by the country's talented storytellers.

To preregister, e-mail ncbdph@gmail.com with the subject, 2017 PCBS Registration.

The awarding of the 2017 PBBY-Salanga Prize and the 2017 PBBY-Alcala Prize will be held on July 18, 2017 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
