PBBY-Alcala Prize: Marcus Nada

To be awarded at the 41st National Children’s Book Day celebration on July 16, 2024.

The 2024 PBBY-Alcala Prize is awarded to Marcus Nada, an illustrator, designer, author, visual artist, and an educator. Nada’s illustrations are based on this year’s PBBY-Salanga Grand Prize winner, Monina’s Many Moles by Eric R. Roxas.

Nada has been illustrating books for more than twenty years and has been teaching at the College of Saint Benilde School of Design and Arts since 2011. In 2006, he co-founded the creative studio Electrolychee. He is also a recipient of the 2001 Gawad CCP Award for the collaborative 35mm animated short film Movements and a long-standing member of Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan (Ang INK).
